Vets to VA Clinic

Acknowledging the number of veterans who live in Santa Rosa County, there are many unmet transportation needs. Santa Rosa County is a largely rural county with dispersed population. Many of these veterans are physically unable to drive or pay for transportation to the nearest VA facilities which is a 50 mile round trip from the center of the county. The service is provided through a coordinated effort of Santa Rosa County, a local transportation provider and community volunteers. This service will provide home pick up and return to and from the veteran's facilities through coordinated scheduling.

Through our program, veterans can access and receive much needed medical care through the VA. This is extremely important to veterans who live on limited or fixed incomes and are without their own means of transportation or funds to access transportation.

This program allows local veterans to be more self-sufficient and maintain their independent living status. The service provides affordable transportation and access to available health care, allowing veterans to use income for basic needs such as food and shelter.
